Saffron: exports slump by 80%

As Iran celebrated Nowruz, the Persian New Year, over the weekend with reports voicing concerns that too many Iranians ignored request to stay at home, the Saffron Exporters Union announced that travel restrictions have prompted an 80% decline in saffron exports. Meanwhile, Covid-19 is spreading in the country with concerns being voiced that the death rate may climb to 3.5 million people if the country fails to act appropriately.
