Cocoa: Q2 grinds exceed expectations

FRANKFURT. The recently published grindings data of the Cocoa Association of Asia (CAA) shows solid demand. Contrary to this, the Q2 grindings presented by the National Confectioners Association (NCA) highlight a significant drop in demand.

 

New records in Q2

Grinds in Asia climbed to 185,394 mt, a value not seen since Q2 2015. The CAA interprets this as a good sign of a solid demand situation. Europe also witnessed the largest grinds since 1999. According to Association of the German Confectioners Association (BDSI) grindings in Germany also rose by 7% to 94,357 mt. This blends in with the Cocoa Organizations expectations to see positive grinding data in almost all regions.
