Cumin

The cumin market was quiet this week amid the Makar Sankranti festival, with limited supply meeting low demand initially keeping prices stable. There were small price increases in midweek as some stockists stocked up. However, these purchases were also rather small, as most market players were waiting for the arrival of the new crop, which should hit the spot market next month. Threats of severe weather conditions initially caused concern among farmers, but the weather in the growing regions has since calmed down. Grade A cumin is trading at USD 1,908/mt FOB I
