GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

According to the Federation of Indian Spice Stakeholders (FISS), cumin production increased by 29% compared to last year. This is not surprising, as sowing has already increased by 25%. Traders are now facing the problem that the main export destinations China and Europe are suffering severely from the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, which is having a major impact on trade. As a result, a large quantity of available goods is meeting with low demand, which is causing prices to fall. Grade A cumin costs USD 1,835 per metric tonne this week.
