Cumin

The expectation of a smaller crop for the 2020/21 season is supporting prices, which are thus experiencing a slight upward trend. India's cumin production is expected to decline by 11% to around 478,500 mt, according to market players, primarily due to reduced acreage in Rajasthan and Gujarat. New arrivals could cause short-term pressure on prices, but traders expect shipments to decline again in about a month, so prices should tend to rise in the coming weeks. Grade A cumin currently costs USD 2,106/mt FOB India.
