FRANKFURT/BRUSSELS. The hot weather has an impact on the dairy market in Germany. With butter prices declining by as much as 32% in the EU, the market stands a very good chance in the export market. Market players are nevertheless disappointed.

Prices take another dip in Germany
The market in Germany reports that the sales of paket butter range on a normal level. In addition, the hot weather is prompting demand for ice cream and the ice cream parlours are driving up demand for cream. The situation for bulk butter remains completely different as demand for fresh butter is very much subdued and prices continue to decline. Market players reckon that enough butter is available in cold warehouses meaning that supplies are being sold at low prices.
