Walnuts: Good sales figures and stable prices

SACRAMENTO. The good sales figures in California have so far failed to drive up prices. Production prospects are highly encouraging.

Walnut exports in June

California Walnuts estimates that as much as 12,877 mt of US walnuts, peeled and in shell, were shipped in June. This is an increase of 0.8% over last year. US consumption has risen by 1.8% to 6,742 mt and overseas shipments have declined by 0.24% to 6,135 mt in June. A total of 334,294 mt have been shipped since the beginning of the season. US consumption has risen by 13.7% to 86,176 mt this season and overseas exports have risen by 9.6% to 248,118 mt.
