Walnuts: Europe imports more walnuts from Chile

... EU has adjusted the maximum limit value for some pesticides this year. However, the European Commission's RASFF portal has not reported any anomalies associated with imports from Chile over the past twelve months.

Exports to the EU rise by 87%
Many market player are in fact in good spirits and see enormous growth potential in the European market. According to the Chilean Walnut Commission, 39,500 mt of walnuts have been exported from Chile since the start of the season (21 March 2019), an increase of almost 40% over last season. The xport volume to Europe amounts to 7,689 mt, which is 87% more than last year around this time. The demand for this year's crop has noticeably increase with Germany, Spain and Italy raising imports from Chile by 73%, 46% and 47% respectively.
