Cumin

The cumin market had already proved stable in December and an upward trend has been observed since the beginning of the year. Farmers are holding back parts of their stocks for the time being and hope for further price increases. Cumin production for the 2022/23 season is estimated at a good 316,000 mt, with the cultivated area currently at 307,135 ha. Last year, 466,162 ha were already sown at this time. In addition, heavy rainfall has led to crop losses, which is pushing prices up even further. Market players are currently expecting further price increases.
