GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

The new crop is reaching the markets in Turkey and Syria, which is putting pressure on Indian prices; however, these are still managing to maintain a relatively high level. Together, Turkey and Syria produce around 35,000 mt of cumin annually, which according to market players is of lower quality than the Indian product. China recently purchased a large quantity of cumin from India, indicating that domestic prices there are relatively high.
