Cumin

Although arrivals are up, prices continue to surge for cumin. Issue is a run on supplies. Reports also state that heavy rains have caused considerable damage in Gujarat and Rajasthan, official estimates have still, however, to be issued. Happy as suppliers are with the present hike in demand, they also fear that trading will be much more subdued throughout the rest of the year and that prices will decline. The rise in global production may indeed contribute to this. The prices for A grade cumin range at USD 4,010/mt FOB India.
