There seems to be no end to the price declines on the Indian cumin market, much to the despair of suppliers. In the last two weeks, prices have fallen again by 7%, and since the beginning of the year by a whopping 30%. This is partly due to the very large production, which is leading to huge arrivals on the markets. Some larger companies that bought at higher prices and can now only sell at a huge loss have even had to file for bankruptcy, as Indian traders report.
