Cumin

After last week's decline, the Indian cumin market is now seeing price increases again. Much of the commodity is in the hands of wealthy traders who are trying hard to drive prices up further - rumour has it that USD 6,000/mt are the target. Arrivals at the markets are down by a third compared to last week. In addition, of the total acreage of 579,000 ha, almost 112,000 ha are said to have been damaged by the heavy rains. To what extent all this will be confirmed remains to be seen, as does the further development of prices. Grade A cumin is currently trading
