Spice market update: fake cumin causes concern among traders

Cumin

As last week, Indian cumin is maintaining its upward trend. Heavy rains in different parts of the country have damaged goods in the local warehouses and are also preventing farmers from bringing their crop to the markets. This consequently leads to lower deliveries, which stabilises prices. In addition, there are reports of counterfeit cumin, which is made from fennel husks, for example.
