Spice market update: cumin quality improves

GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

The upward trend continues on the cumin market and prices have again risen slightly compared to last week. Some buyers are holding back for the time being due to the end of the current financial year, but many stockists are still stocking up, so prices are supported. New crop arrivals are increasing in the markets and Indian traders report that moisture content is decreasing and quality is steadily improving. Cumin, grade A currently costs USD 2,850/mt FOB India.
