Low export demand and the expectation of a high-quality new crop are causing prices to decline steadily, and concerns about the coronavirus are contributing to this trend. Prices for grade A cumin currently range at USD 1,975 per metric tonne, that is a four-year low on the Indian online commodity exchange NCDEX. Traders expect China to buy about 50,000 metric tonnes of cumin due to rising consumption, but the current situation is causing uncertainty.
