The price of cumin has skyrocketed in the past few days. Indian market players report good domestic demand. The new crop is gradually arriving on the markets, but there are delays in many places; in Rajasthan, for example, the new crop is not expected until mid-March, while the old stocks are already running low. Moreover, the quality of the new goods is not yet convincing because the moisture content is too high.
