GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

After prices had risen in the last two weeks, sellers were able to make good profits and both traders and farmers released more goods from their warehouses, so that the high arrivals put pressure on prices; for this reason, there were slight price declines again this week. Sowing was delayed by 30 to 40 days due to adverse weather conditions, and reports suggest that acreage is smaller than last year, although official data will not be available until mid-December. In the meantime, however, sowing is in full swing. Indian exporters are reporting higher demand
