High demand on local spot markets has caused prices for Indian cumin to skyrocket in recent weeks. Exporters in particular are doing well to meet all the requests from overseas - in the last few days alone, according to Indian traders, "huge shipments" have been delivered to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, partly because freight costs have dropped noticeably.
