Spice market update: China shakes cumin market in India

GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

The recent price cuts for cumin have turned out to be temporary in India. Prices have, in fact, risen by USD 200/mt this week. Issue is that a large shipment from China to India has been cancelled, which has left some suppliers struggling to meet existing contracts. Yet, it should be noted that China also supplies large volumes to key markets in the Americas and Middle East.
