GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

Although large quantities of cumin continue to reach the markets, demand is so good that prices continue to increase. One reason for this is that the available goods are less than last year; farmers had started sowing late because they had been waiting for better weather conditions. In addition, the area under cultivation this year is about 34% smaller than in 2021. However, market players expect that the upper price limit will soon be reached and that prices could then stagnate or even fall slightly again. Cumin, grade A currently costs USD 2,920/mt FOB India
