Cumin

Prices on the Indian cumin market have skyrocketed in the course of the last week. This is due to several factors. Firstly, export demand is huge, with around 6,000 mt of Indian cumin being shipped to Bangladesh alone in the past 12 days. In Turkey and Syria, however, there were heavy rains directly after sowing, which considerably worsens the crop prospects. In the Indian state of Rajasthan, too, heavy rains have led to crop damage, which is fuelling the rush for the currently remaining cumin stocks.
