GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

The cumin market is slowly picking up. Initially, buyers had been hesitant due to the high moisture content of the new crop, which was around 12%; however, with the warmer weather and the decline in old stocks, they have become more active. Market players expect the market to remain stable for the time being and there will probably even be further price increases, due to the decline in production as well as high demand. Cumin, grade A currently costs USD 2,305/mt FOB India, up USD 20/mt from last week.
