Although cumin prices have fallen again slightly, market players are cautiously optimistic. Exports are better than last year and global demand for the Indian crop is very satisfactory, despite strong competition from Syria, Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan. Growers, who are still holding a large proportion of stocks in their warehouses, are now more willing to sell as they expect prices to rise in the near future.
