Pistachios: Germans pay highest prices

TEHRAN/SACRAMENTO. Average annual production ranges at 200,000-250,00 metric tonnes in Iran. As much as 85-95% of this amount are exported generating around USD 1.4-1.7 billion every year. Germany imports the most expensive pistachios.

Germany pays an average of USD 13.11 per kg

Although exports to China have gained in attractiveness over the last few years, Germany, Italy and Spain feature as prominent export destinations for Iran. Many large distributors in Europe favour the taste of the pistachios from Iran.
