ORDU. The Turkish lira, which has regained in strength, also has an impact on export prices. In addition, the current developments in the hazelnut market encourage speculations.

Not everyone is covered

The Turkish lira has well recovered again from last week’s decline. While the farmgate prices have, however, only risen nominally, the export prices have experienced a marked upward correction.

The price increase has led to a temporary rise in demand. Some buyers have conducted successful purchases. Contrary to this, Ferrero was only able to purchase limited volumes of raw nuts. At 13.75 TRY/kg, the market giant's offer is well below the current market price of 14.90 TRY/kg.
