ORDU. The current farmgate prices are promting growers to sell in Turkey. At the same time, however, demand remains high in the export market. This is also the case for organic hazelnuts.

650.000 metric tonnes have already been sold

The persistently good sales figures are driving up the farmgate prices in Turkey. With prices ranging at TRY 17.50-18.00 per kg, the farmers are very much willing to sell. The export prices have also climbed notably.

An estimated 650,000 mt of in-shells (2019 crop: 800,000 metric tonnes) have already been sold and more than 110,000 metric tonnes of this volume have already been shipped overseas. As demand is by no means expected to suside the export volume may climb to 175,000 metric tonnes by the end of the year.
