Hazelnuts: Suppliers play it safe

Production to remain similar to 2018/19

The initial estimates for a record crop of 860,000 mt no longer play a role. More and more often, however, a volume of 700,000 mt is being mentioned. Unofficial production estimates should be issued over the next few days. Due to the expected low end-of-season stocks, it is highly unlikely that supplies will range higher than this season. Sellers are consequently becoming increasingly cautious about issuing contract prices for 2019/20.
