ORDU. The first hazelnut production estimates have been issued for the new crop in Turkey. On top of this, the weather forecast is highly encouraging for the next two weeks and trading has revived.

Encouraging outlook for the new season

The weather should pose no matter of concern over the next two weeks. Although frost damages may occurr until the end of April, production prospects are highly encouraging this year. The Aegean Exporters' Association recently issued a first production estimate over 756,000 mt and thereby anticipates an 18% rise over last year. More optimistic estimates even exceed 800,000 mt, which would be 24% up on the 640,000 mt produced last year.
