Hazelnuts: The risk of frost remains

ORDU. The low temperatures over the last few weeks have led to local frost damages – according to reports. These have not yet significantly influenced the hazelnut harvest; however, the weather forecasts already predict the next cold front.

Frost is coming, again
In the higher hazelnut cultivation areas, snow and frosty night-time temperatures will have led to some losses. Market participant do report that the damages are relatively minor. The last, critical weeks are upon us and some seriously cold weather is predicted for the coming 14 days. The meteorological developments over the next few weeks will have a crucial effect on the harvest, and with that prices.
