ORDU. The price range between the hazelnut suppliers is widening further and further every day, this coming after significant price increases were introduced again.

Considerable differences
By the end of January, Turkish hazelnut exports reached more than 150,000 mt since the beginning of the season, around a quarter more than this time last year. Market participants expect many buyers to build up stocks for the transition into 2018/19, as it is looking increasingly likely that the price level will be above the currently offered prices. Depending on the supplier, hazelnut kernels, natural, 11-13 mm, are being offered for 4.85-5.25 EUR/kg DDP Germany. At this point, only a very few are covered for the long term.
