ORDU. Despite the relaxed mood on the Turkish hazelnut market after the holidays, exports in the first week of September went surprisingly well. About 4,400 mt of hazelnuts have been delivered to foreign countries since the beginning of the season.

Money rules the world
With the end of the holiday season in Turkey, many hazelnut farmers, who only farm the plantations as a sideline, will soon be returning to the cities. For this reason, the purchasing centres are currently being downright flooded with commodities. Because of the good quality and the abundant crop volumes, the competition is high in the domestic market. Instead of holding back their hazelnuts, as in previous years, the farmers prefer to sell everything at once and take the money home with them right away.
