Hazelnuts: Global production estimates 2019/20

ORDU. Last Friday, during the INC World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress in Miami, crop forecasts for the global 2019/20 hazelnut production were announced.

770,000 mt Turkish hazelnuts
The INC had reduced the figures for the Turkish 2018/19 hazelnut season to 575,000 mt in March. Due to the good sales figures of the last months there will probably be no significant carryover from this season. The estimated remaining stocks of 45,000 mt should be reserves of exporters, which are subject to longterm contracts. Even though the TMO is said to have sold almost all of its stocks in the meantime.
