ORDU. Turkish hazelnut exporters are receiving more and more enquiries for the new crop, which is reviving the market. The development of the Turkish lira will play an important role in pricing over the next few weeks.

Exporters play it safe

Voices are becoming more frequent, which demand that the government should raise farmgate prices to 20 TRY/kg in the new season. Market players reckon that this demand may be met. At the same time, the TMO is being urged to announced the purchasing prices early, which is why most exporters are reluctant to make attractive offers and the prices are on the rise for the new crop.
