Hazelnuts: Farmers may be prompted to sell

Traders reckon with lower prices

With the current production estimates ranging at  770,000-820,000 metric tonnes, the TMO intends to buy prucase as much as 25% to stabilise the market. Some exporters are, nevertheless, providing offers which range below the TMO's purchasing prices of TRY 16.50-17.00 per kg. Suppliers reckon that not all farmers will insist on the TMO base prices.
