Hazelnuts: Erdoğan announces TMO prices

Raw nut prices in 2019/2020

The TMO is expected to purchase up to 200,000 mt of raw hazelnuts in the new season. For Levantine hazelnuts the purchasing price is TRY 16.50 per kg and for Giresun hazelnuts TRY 17.00 per kg. Farmers will be able to register at the respective collection points as of Thursday.

Exporters push down prices

Initially, the TMO's purchasing prices were to have been set TRY 1.00 per kg higher. The exporters, however, protested vehemently as the had calculated with cheaper pruchasing prices for the first contract
