Hazelnuts: Early election stabilises exchange rate

ORDU. Last week, it was announced that the date for the Turkish presidential elections will be brought forward. Market participants expect the government to rapidly go hunting for votes in the agricultural sector as well.

 

Farmers will be courted
The early elections, now scheduled for 24 June 2018, have temporarily stabilised the Turkish Lira. In an attempt to win over the farmers' vote, more detailed information on the TMO procurement programme for the 2018/19 season can already be expected very soon.
