Hazelnuts: Low demand fails to affect market sentiments

Quiet market

It is hardly surprising that export demand has dropped so soon before Christmas and New Year. Demand for raw nuts has also declined. Prices, however, remain stable for now. The beginning of January is decisive for further developments, as soon as the farmers have decided what to do with their remaining stocks. This will depend on the condition the shrubs are and the crop estimates for 2018 as well as the conduct of the TMO.
