Hazelnuts: Complaints and delivery delays

Increase in complaints
According to the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), 12 deliveries of Turkish hazelnuts and hazelnut preparations have been reported or rejected since the beginning of the season due to heightened levels of aflatoxin. Market operators are reporting an increasing number of complaints. Processing these complaints means exporters and suppliers are having to deal with extra work that was not accounted for in their planning.
