ORDU. The TMO's lower commodity prices and looser purchase conditions made it easier for Turkish hazelnut farmers to decide to sell last week.

Tempting offers
The farmers have currently already registered 50,000 mt of hazelnuts for delivery to the TMO, who in turn announced last Saturday that they want to purchase hazelnuts amounting to 40 million TRY (approx. 9.7 million EUR) this week.

Just like in the previous week, the Turkish hazelnut market experienced a flood of commodities in the last 7 days, causing the commodity prices to drop as low as 8.00 TRY/kg. Meanwhile, the TMO has loosened their purchase conditions, which makes it more profitable for the farmers to sell their commodities to the state
