Cashews: Pressure is growing for suppliers in India

HANOI/NEW DELHI. The export prices have declined again this week. At the same time, the National Commission on Cotton and Cashew reckons that production will be smaller in Côte d'Ivoire this year.

Crop estimates for Côte d'Ivoire

The Ivory Coast is the world's largest cashew producer. Due to unfavourable weather conditions, however, this year’s production is set to decline to 730,000 mt, according to Adam Coulibaly, head of the National Commission on Cotton and Cashew. According to Coulibaly, around 761,000 mt of RCN were harvested in Côte d'Ivoire in 2018.
