Cashews: Market participants hope for rising prices

NEW DELHI/HANOI. Cashew prices on the international market were relatively stable in the first half of June. However, market participants expect prices to rise again in the coming weeks.

Export prices for Indian cashew kernels ended last week at a lower level as low foreign demand depressed prices.

According to reports, about 700 of the 834 cashew plants in India have not been in operation for more than three years. Despite the significant increase in raw material prices in recent years, the offers for cashew kernels in the international market remained comparatively low.
