Cashews: Export quality is poor

HANOI. The poor quality of Vietnamese exports has led cashew buyers to wait for the arrival of the new crop from Tanzania before making further purchases.

 

Cheap is not always good
The ninth conference for the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) took place in mid-November. The main focus was on which developments can be expected in the upcoming months.

As market players reported, there was an increased amount of complaints regarding the quality of Vietnamese export goods. Suppliers reason that buyers have been leaping on the lower prices offered by small vendors, and thus take the risk of receiving goods which are not of premium quality.
