HANOI/NEW DELHI. The 2019/20 RCN production is expected to be similar in size to 2018/19. Carry-over stocks will, however, significantly raise total supplies.

Production to rise by 4.3%

At the INC Congress, global production estimates for RCN ranged at 3.666 million mt, an increase of 4.3% over 2018/19. Coupled with this season’s carry-over stocks, including the unsold volumes in Tanzania, supplies should top 4 million mt of RCN in 2019/20. Market players are, however, voicing concerns over the quality of the RCN stored since November. Quality may also become an issue in Côte d'Ivoire.
