Almonds: Unexpected price developments

SACRAMENTO. The Californian almond blossoming period is set to begin in February. Whether the 2018 crop will manage to meet the record productions figures of the previous years is, however, highly questionable.

The last years in comparison

Not only did the Californian almond production increase successively over the last three years, the 2017 crop was a real record year, at around 1 million mt. However, due to the relatively dry winter, this year’s crop might be curtailed a bit, even if there is no longer any acute danger of a dry spell.
