MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Although the spot markets in Reus and Murcia are still closed, the new crop is being traded in Albacete.

Mixed trends in Spain

Media in Spain report that some almond varieties of the new crop are now being traded in Albacete. Marcona almonds are trading firm and the prices for Valencia almonds are firm to falling. The prices for Largueta almonds have declined considerably. Organic almonds and Guara almonds are trading 10 cents higher than one year ago. This is seen as a sign that the producers may earn good profits here, despite the increase in production.
