MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Some US suppliers have withdrawn from the market for the time being. The producers in Spain are largely satisfied with last year's developments.

Mixed price trends in Spain

The farmgate prices in Spain are trading on a similar level as towards the end of 2017. Producers and retailers generally rate 2018 as a positive year. The export prices are, however, well above the last year’s level after rising in November. Valencia almonds are currently trading around 0.05 EUR/kg more expensive than before the Christmas break. Largueta almonds are largely stable and Marcona almonds are even 0.10 EUR/kg cheaper than in mid-December.
