MADRID/SACRAMENTO. The market in Spain is feeling the pressure of the high import volume. Contrary to this, the prices are on the rise in the US market.

Prices drop by up to 0.40 EUR/kg

In addition to the domestic production of ca. 53,600 mt Spain is set to import an additional volume 1,5 times larger from the US by the end of the season. The expected rise in production in 2018/19 is adding considerable pressure to the market and traders have reacted by reducing their prices by 0.05-0.40 EUR/kg depending on type.
