Almonds: Reliable estimates to be issued in November at the earliest

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Media reports in Spain state the marekt has witnessed further price increases and that the hike cannot be stopped.

Temporary decline in export prices

Last week, the prices rose by around 0.20 EUR/kg in the spot markets in Albacete, according to Spanish agricultural media. An end to the price increase they are not in sight for the time being. The surprising cut in the US prodcution estimates promtped the exporters in Spain to sharply raise their prices. Although the market has witnessed a nominal decline, the prices for Spanish almonds are, nevertheless, trading around EUR 1.00 per kg higher than last year.
