Almonds: low prices to attract buyers

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. The almond marekt continues its downward trend. US almonds have declined sharply in price in Europe. Exports have started off well in Spain in 2021/2022.

Will US exports remain high?

The Almond Board of California (ABC) reports that less almonds have been sold in advance than last year. Many buyers have drawn on large supplies and last year's cheap prices to stock up. Logistical challenges such as the lack of containers and staff have also caused backlogs, which are now being shipped. The market reckons that US exports may decline after Christmas and Chinese New Year at the latest.
